Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to read the card, check the record, and buy a pass, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page says what we have done, what we know is still imperfect, and how to tell us when something is in your way.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the site. We check the site with automated tests in a real browser and by hand, on desktop and on phones, every time it changes.
What the site does
- Keyboard: every link, button, tab, and form control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring, and a "skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Screen readers: pages use landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), headings in order, labels on every form field, and names on every button. The mascot image has a text description. The blurred, locked play text is decorative and hidden from assistive technology; the play itself is delivered by email.
- Motion: the moving parts of the home page (the results ticker and the glow behind the mascot) have a visible Pause motion control, and they stay still automatically when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Contrast and size: text is set to at least 4.5:1 against its background, body text is 15 px or larger, and touch targets are at least 40 px tall.
- Forms: the join form has one labeled email field, a clear button that says what happens next, and a plain success message that tells you where your request went.
- Live content: the card and the record load from a data file after the page opens and are announced to assistive technology when they arrive. If the file cannot be read, the page says "Feed unavailable" rather than showing stale numbers.
What we know is imperfect
- The card and record refresh from a data file, so their wording comes from that file and can change between visits.
- The pass buttons open your own email app. If your device has no email app set up, write to us directly at Bet@bigbullybets.com and we will take it from there.
- Third-party pages we link to, such as Venmo and the 1-800-GAMBLER help line, have their own accessibility practices.
Tell us what is in your way
If any part of the site is hard for you to use, email Bet@bigbullybets.com and describe the page and what happened. We read every message and aim to reply within five business days. If you need the card or the record in plain text, ask and we will send it that way.
